Job Details

Aspirus is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist for Aspirus Langlade Clinic with potential to float to Aspirus Elcho and Birnamwood Clinics as needed.

Hours: Day shift between 6:30 a. m. - 5:30 p. m.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Greet patients and visitors upon arrival in a courteous manner.
  • Registers patients, verifies and updates necessary information,.
  • Schedules/re-schedules procedures/visits following established protocols that promote physician and patient satisfaction, as well as schedule efficiencies.
  • Schedules patient return appointments, as needed.
  • Screens visitors, responds to routine requests for information/service, and directs visitors to appropriate staff members.
  • Receives and records patients' payments, issues receipts and forwards payment to according to established payments. Opens daily mail received and distributes to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides healthcare authorization for release of information forms and assist if necessary.
  • Pages staff and makes clinic announcements as requested.
  • Operates a multi-line switchboard to include opening and closing the switchboard according to established procedure.
  • Performs clerical functions and provides back-up clerical support to other departments, as required.
  • Works at the highest level, utilizing a team-based approach, to ensure that patients have the full attention of a dedicated team of health care providers who work together to manage their care, while supporting diversity and cultural factors.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and education requirements:

  • Knowledge of office procedures normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of business office, customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Computer experience and basic computer keyboarding skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with patients, employees, and the public. Offers ideas and suggestions.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, under pressure, with time constraints.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
